A limited-edition urban fashion project translating images from KOOL KOOR’s works of the 1980s and 1990s onto the body.
Wearable painting
KOOL KOOR collaborated with Italian fashion house L_Y_O_N — Live Your Own Nature — to translate imagery from his earlier practice into limited-edition garments. Works originating in the 1980s and 1990s are reconfigured across jackets and clothing, allowing symbols, gestures and fragments of painting to move from canvas to body.
The collection was presented at SHIN Gallery in New York on May 2, 2026, bringing paintings and garments together within one spatial installation.
The blank canvas
At the heart of L_Y_O_N’s identity is a blank canvas on the rear of every garment — a surface deliberately left open for individual expression. For KOOL KOOR, the idea connects naturally with a recurring principle in his practice: the surface as a space of possibility.
One side carries an image and a history; the blank canvas remains a space for what comes next. The idea creates a conceptual bridge back to MIRANO / LIFE IS A WHITE CANVAS, linking painting, public space and clothing through the same open proposition.
